Frequently Asked Questions
Is a
contract required? For most projects, yes, and to make it
easy, we use a printable HTML (web-based) contract with one-click form
submission.
How
much do you charge? Are there extra fees for rush jobs? Fees
are project-based and quoted individually. "Rush" jobs usually require
a minimum 15% surcharge
What
kinds of payment do you accept? What about deposits? When do I pay?
PayPal and most major credit cards are accepted. A minimum 50%
deposit is required at time of contract for new clients. You will be
billed for the remaining amount due, along with any other additional
charges, when the project is complete. Artwork purchases to be made on
your behalf must be paid for up front.
What
if I want to cancel? If you decide to cancel the contract
prior to the completion of the project, you will be billed for any
expenses, time, and/or effort expended or incurred up to that point,
minus any deposit or retainer fees. Payments made due because of a
cancellation are to be paid in full upon receipt of the invoice.
Will
having my work edited/proofed guarantee I'll get a job/agent/contract?
No.
What
if I don't agree with your editing suggestions, do I have to make
those changes? No. Writing is a subjective medium, our goal is
to merely offer ideas and opinions as to how you can improve your
work. The final decision as to whether or not you want to incorporate
those suggestions comes down to you.
Can/Will you guarantee the colors I see on screen will match the
printed version? No. Due to screen variances, settings,
resolution, etc. there may be a difference in coloration of the
printed version.
What
do you mean by “pre-format the manuscript?” For basic interior
book formatting projects, you will be given instructions on how to set
up your document prior to submission. If you can not or do not want to
do this yourself, we can perform this step for a fee.
I
don’t want to self-publish, will you just publish my book for me?
No, but for companies that provide those kinds of services, please
visit the POD Database.
How
does the process work? Either use our contact form or email us
directly with information about your project. If we are available, we
will work up a quote for services, then we will go from there.
Do
you accept every project? No, because in order to provide
quality service it is just not possible for us to accept every
proposed project so please understand if we’re not able to accept
yours.
Payment
Policies (for most projects):
